maybe to many people like themselves. That is why this world has cruelties and anger, in trying to like ourselves as broken as we are we end up liking our mistakes. if we reach for likeness then that in fact is reaching for perfection, we are reaching for God. We learn to live with ourselves we learn to like god. Then we reach for god, and in all of this we love not ourselves we love god. We don't necessarily like ourselves but we can like what we want to become which is more like god.
